Level 5 & 6 Wonga Weekly

🥳 Happy last week of Term Three! 

Thank you for a terrific term of learning! We hope your children have a fantastic, well earned break from school and come back ready and refreshed for a massive Term Four! 

This week, we have an alternative timetable due to Senior Hoop Time and Term Four planning.

🎭 CBL Challenge

We are excited to be in our final stages of preparing our Term Three CBL Challenge 'Smash stereotypes. Ditch discrimination. Push aside prejudice. Advocate for all.'

Students have been busy working on developing an idea to meet this challenge. They read a selection of texts to identify our key themes for the term, which are stereotypes, bias, prejudice, and discrimination, with an overarching message of being an upstander.

Students worked in groups to create a script, props and costumes and will be performing to their peers throughout the week. They will be assessing each other against a range of agreed criteria and reflecting upon the process for a Learning Snapshot.

📗GRADE 6 MEMORY BOOK

A suggested timeline and high quality examples have been posted to your child's Showbie account under 'Memory Books'. They have been briefed on the expectations and have been encouraged to follow the suggested timeline where possible. We look forward to seeing their completed books in late Term 4.

The pages for Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 should now be completed. Students should be working on their Grade 3 page and have this completed by Sunday 22nd September.

👜GRADE 5 BUDDY BAGS

The fifth task in creating their Buddy Bag will be purchasing a gift. The details of this task will be explained in class and will also be uploaded to Showbie for easy access. High quality examples have been posted to your child's Showbie account under 'Buddy Bags'.

👒HATS ON

As of September 1st, we would like to remind you that our school adheres to the SunSmart policy set by the Victorian Government. All students are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat when outdoors from the 1st September when UV levels are typically higher.

Please ensure your child brings a hat to school every day to protect them from the sun's harmful rays.

⭐︎ Friday 18th October - Springtime Soiree (see poster for details) This is our biggest fundraiser for the year and we would love to see you there (finally an event for the parents!).
