Souran and Steve's Residency Wraps Up in Style
The four-week residency of Souran Mishra and Steve Rocha at All Saints' College concluded in style with an engaging final day that left a lasting impression. Their time with the College wrapped up with a special Circus performance, where Year 9 students took to the stage to showcase their skills to an enthusiastic audience of Year 5 students.
Throughout the residency, the growth in the Year 9 students was clear, with their talents flourishing in unexpected areas. The final performance was a vibrant display of stilt walking, unicycling, juggling, hula hooping, and more, celebrating the hard work and creativity the students developed during the program.
Mr Paul Green, who organised the residency, praised the journey of the students, highlighting their growth. "Watching the Year 9s overcome their fears and step into the spotlight was the highlight of the program. They learned to embrace failure, laugh when things didn’t go to plan, and, most importantly, have fun," he said.
Both Souran and Steve expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception from the All Saints' community. Steve was especially struck by the College’s commitment to embedding justice into the curriculum. "It’s not something you see everywhere," he reflected. "It speaks volumes about the leadership here and sets a powerful example of serving with courage and wisdom. The teachers did an excellent job incorporating justice into their lessons and assignments."
With their residency at All Saints' College complete, Souran and Steve plan to spend a few days in Adelaide before moving on to their next project. They look forward to seeing the impact of their work and hope to return to the College in the future.

Year 11 UWA Excursion
On Tuesday 3 September, the Year 11 psychology students spent the day working with Dr Nic Badcock and Dr Donna Bayliss at the UWA Psychology Hub in Crawley.
Nic and Donna presented a series of seminars that deepened the students’ understanding of the effect of mobile phones on attention, memory, cross-lateralisation of the nervous system, learning and brain scanning technologies. Additionally, they were given the opportunity to ask questions of a Graduate Student panel, consisting of four current Masters and PhD students at the faculty, about their experiences studying at university and the different pathways they have taken.

Arts Day Video
On Arts Day, the Year 12 Certificate II Creative Industries class celebrated their hard work with the premiere of their film Breaking Into Your Heart. This project, which came to fruition after collaborative efforts throughout Terms 2 and 3, was guided by Perth filmmaker, director and Old Saint Jack Connell (Class of 2017).
The students utilised various brainstorming and idea generation techniques to hone their concept, ultimately deciding on a romantic comedy/heist genre. After crafting and refining the script, they shot the film at several locations around the College. The editing phase, led by supervising editor James Stachewicz and director Tristan Clement (both Year 12), culminated in a polished final product just in time for the premiere.
The film was met with enthusiastic applause from a packed audience eager to see their peers on the big screen. For those who missed the premiere, follow-up screenings will be held on Thursday 7 November and Friday 8 November.
