SPARK WEEK@ Holy Family

This Tuesday five students were chosen to go to a spark day for leadership and we had an amazing time. We learned really cool things like “you have to be a good role model to be a good leader”. We did plenty of fun activities. The spark day was mainly run by Burn Bright.  They told us about challenges and we had to solve them with a group of people that we had never met. We also had some activities where we had to work together and cooperate. There were activities where we had to be silent while working together and activities where communication was key. There were some activities where we had a sheet and wrote down our passions and strengths. We learned so much from this day. If someone is in need or can’t play a game you can always show a sign of compassion like taking a pack of Uno cards and playing with them even if that means that you sacrifice your play time.

A small deed like that can turn someone's frown upside down.

Did you know that to be a good leader you have to be a terrific friend to your peers and those around you. The leadership spark day was so much fun and now our five students that attended will be able to share what happened and how we all can be good leaders to everyone at Holy Family.

Sacred Geometry

On Wednesday, Holy Family hosted a SPARK Day right here at our school. We learnt all about what Sacred Geometry was and where we could find geometric shapes in nature, from beehives to snake scales, turtle shells and even the eyes of mozzies! We also had a bit of fun with the compasses, and we had the opportunity to create paper collages with colours and circles. It was so interesting learning about the intersection between maths, geometry and everyday life, like the seed of life and a Metatron’s Cube, which was very intricate and a fantastic artistic/mathematical experience. However, as a group, our favourite activity collectively was definitely Mandala Gaba, an interactive site where we could have fun with designing Mandalas. Overall, the experience was fun, educational and we got to interact with like-minded students from other schools. We would also love to thank Mrs Dickinson for running the whole day and doing a lot of work to prepare for the event. It was truly something spectacular.
