LITERACY
During Literacy, we have continued to write narratives based on familiar fairy tales. We also celebrated our learning by participating in the Fairytale Fiasco incursion.
The students enjoyed dressing up as different characters that all got muddled up, as cats squeaked, mice meowed, dragons blew bubbles, and the magicians had broken wands where all their spells failed.
NUMERACY
During Numeracy, we have begun learning about division. We know that we must share equally so that everyone has the same amount. We have also learnt important vocabulary for division including shared between, fair share and the division symbol ÷.
We have also begun to develop our understanding of length, using both formal and informal measurements. We have had fun measuring different objects, including ourselves.
SEL/INQUIRY
During Inquiry, we are looking at developing our understanding of maps. We have used Google Earth to find major landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben, our school and our homes. It has been heaps of fun seeing the birds eye view of many of these places.
