Mr Baker

Scholastic Book Fair

Hello families,

Our Book Fair to start Term 4 was a huge success and thank you to the school community for supporting the event. Our takings from the event were close to $4,100 with a percentage of that money coming back to the school in Scholastic Rewards which will go towards purchasing new books for the school library, classroom libraries and purchasing books for end of year gifts to the children.

World of Maths incursion

Next Friday 25th October we have our World of Maths whole school incursion. This will be held in the gym for students and teachers to attend. Cost of the incursion is $10 per child with payment and approval on XUNO.

This term we have invited the World of Maths (a travelling, interactive Maths Workshop) to visit our school.

World of Maths offers an ideal opportunity for students to see how Maths is applied to everyday life situations, explore Maths in a hands-on environment. Students are encouraged to communicate their Maths ideas and answers with other students in small teams, working together. Students will gain insight into problem solving, working in teams, and explore various mathematic strains which are part of their curriculum this term.

It is a highly engaging session which will show that Maths is everywhere and is important and of course that Maths is fun!

Students will attend the World of Maths workshops with their grade at different times of the day.

Mr Baker's Maths challenge

Can you solve this Maths problem?

If you can work out the answer, please come and let Mr Baker know.

Good luck!
