Loving and Gracious God,
As we pause from our daily work and responsibilities,
We come before You with hearts seeking rest and renewal.
We thank You for the strength and guidance You have given us,
For the achievements, the challenges, and the growth of this past term.
Now, in this time of rest, we ask You to grant us peace.
May our minds find stillness,
May our bodies find restoration,
And may our hearts find joy in Your presence.
Help us to let go of any worries or burdens,
And trust that You will refresh our spirits,
So that we may return with renewed energy and purpose.
Guide us to use this time to reconnect with family,
To deepen our faith,
And to appreciate the simple moments of peace.
We place our cares and concerns in Your hands,
Knowing that You are with us always,
Leading us beside still waters.
Amen.
As we come to the end of another busy term here at Mount Carmel Catholic College, it is a fitting time to pause and reflect on the many achievements we’ve shared as a community. Our students have been involved in a wide array of academic, sporting, cultural, and spiritual activities, and I am incredibly proud of how they’ve embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm and dedication.
From outstanding results in assessments to success on the sports fields, and from creative performances to leadership initiatives, this term has truly been a showcase of the diverse talents and hard work of our students. Special congratulations must go to those who represented our school in regional and national events, making us proud with their exceptional conduct and achievements.
Beyond these tangible successes, it has also been a term of spiritual growth. Our school’s faith life continues to flourish, with many students participating in meaningful liturgies, social justice initiatives, and service opportunities. These moments of reflection and service help to ground us in our core values, reminding us of the importance of faith, community, and compassion in all we do.
I wish the Year 6 students a safe return from their week in Canberra; the stories and photos shared ensure that many special memories are being made. A group of Year 9/10 students supported by Ms Alderdice, Mrs Allan and Mrs Tewes also headed for Japan yesterday. What an amazing opportunity to be immersed in Japanese culture, stay with host families and put their language skills into action. We can’t wait to hear of their adventures!
As we now transition into a well-deserved break, I encourage all students, staff, and families to take this time to rest and recharge. Term 4 will undoubtedly bring its own set of challenges and opportunities, and we want to be ready for them with renewed energy and focus.
In closing, I thank our dedicated staff for their unwavering commitment and support throughout the term. I also extend my gratitude to our parents and caregivers for your continued partnership in the education and well-being of your daughters. Together, we create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
Wishing everyone a restful and rejuvenating holiday, and I look forward to welcoming you all back for an exciting and productive Term 4.
Capital Works Update
The ‘Louisa’ is finally becoming a reality!
The blocks have been cleared and the footings are starting to take shape. Over the holidays we hope to see some things starting to take shape. We look forward to sharing any images with you. A reminder that the exit driveway past the Art Building will be closed for the next few weeks as we keep this space safe. Thank you for your understanding.
I would like to remind all families of the importance of representing Mount Carmel College with pride, especially when students are wearing the school uniform in public spaces. Our uniform is a visible symbol of the College, and we expect that students continue to uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and compassion whenever they are in uniform, even after school hours.
Recently, there have been some concerns regarding student behaviour in the city centre after school. In light of these issues, we strongly recommend that students avoid gathering in the centre of town. This recommendation is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, as well as to maintain the positive reputation of our College. Any behaviour that does not align with our College values will be addressed according to our Unacceptable Behaviour Policy. We trust that with your support, our students will continue to act as positive role models and representatives of our community.
Summer Uniform
A reminder to all families that we move into summer uniforms next term. Please use the holiday break to check hem lengths, so many of our students have grown taller as well as correct coloured socks and hair ties. Thank you for supporting us as we take pride in our school uniform.
