What's been happening in the Junior Classrooms.

Foundation & Foundation One.

In Literacy, we have been learning about information texts. This week, we explored a variety of animal information texts and discovered some fascinating facts. One of our exciting writing activities was called "Who Am I?" where students wrote clues about an Australian animal for others to guess.

In Mathematics, we have been focusing on addition. The children have enjoyed learning about "Friends of 10" and especially loved creating rainbow clouds to model different combinations that add up to ten.

Grade One & Garde Two.

Reading

In reading, we have explored the book Koala Ark by Stephen Michael King. We focused on sentence structure and practiced using noun groups to make our writing more detailed. We also learned how to turn simple sentences into compound ones by adding conjunctions. After choosing characters from the story to describe, we created watercolour paintings to match our sentences.
