On Tuesday afternoon, the school was opened for families to come in and participate in Conferences. It was great to see a good number of families in attendance, but more pleasing was the number of students that attended as well, so that they could join in the conversations about their learning. If you were unable to attend these Conferences, or missed out on seeing a particular teacher, please don’t hesitate to send an email, or call.
I am pleased to announce that we have provisionally appointed a number of staff into our hard to fill positions. Pip Rose has accepted the ongoing position as our Mental Health Practitioner (MHP). Tyrone Raw has accepted the Student Support Mentor position, which is currently funded until the end of 2026. These 2 staff will be a welcome addition to our Wellbeing Team, as we have been trying to fill these positions for a very long time. More information about these staff and their roles will come out next term.
We have also just provisionally appointed a music instructor, Abramo Peghini, who will commence music lessons with students early next term, so that the students can continue to keep up with their instrumental practice. Again, more information will come next term.
Term 3 always seems busier than the other terms, but I think the reality is that with extra sickness and disruptions to learning, it just is busier. Now that we are at the end of it, Term 3 seems to have gone very quickly! Everyone is ready for a holiday and the Year 12s are ready for that last run at their final year of school.
I hope everyone has a great break, and takes the time to relax, enjoy their hobbies and spend some quality time with family. Term 4 starts on Monday 7th October, and I look forward to seeing everyone when they return from holidays, ready for the last term of the year.
