End of Term 3

Here we are again at the end of another busy but successful term. Over the last few weeks we have had book week, the State School Spectacular, the Art Show, Parent Teacher Interviews, Footy Day, the Paralympics Day and many other activities in year levels. Thanks again to our teachers and staff for all their work, and to our amazing students for their efforts and learning over the term.

Art Show

Thank you to all our families for coming to the art show last week and making it a huge success. It was so wonderful to see the community together to support the school and our visual arts program. Thank you for your contributions to our fundraising efforts which will go towards running the wonderful teaching and learning programs here, and also maintaining our school buildings and grounds.

I would also like to thank our visual arts teachers Kathy Orford and Meagan Baker for their wonderful vision and work in creating a spectacular event around the theme, Australia our Home. The school community is very fortunate to have you and and we are so thankful for your efforts this week, and over the year to create and plan this event.

Well done to our students as well for their amazing art work which we were all very fortunate to see on display.

Thanks as well to our Parents' Association for organising the very popular ice cream van and the raffles.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews were held earlier this week. At WHPS we value and encourage regular communication between parents and teachers and trust the interviews we a valuable opportunity to learn about your child's progress.

Container Deposit Scheme

Just a reminder about the Container Deposit Scheme. You can donate to our school when you recycle you bottles and containers. The upcoming holidays may be a great time to recycle any leftover bottles or glasses around your home. Instructions are below:

Step 1: Collect Containers

Gather your empty, eligible containers. These typically include drink containers such as cans, bottles, and cartons that are 1L in size or smaller.

Step 2: Find a CDS Depot

Locate a nearby collection depot participating in the Container Deposit Scheme. You can easily find these depots by visiting the official website - see link below. There is a depot on Wellington Road near Springvale Road not far from WHPS.

Step 3: Create an Account

To ensure your donations go directly to our school, you'll need to create an account on the Container Deposit Scheme's platform. For our area you will need to download the app for CDS Vic East. Follow the simple registration process on their website or app - you can also get help from staff at a depot. https://cdsvic.org.au/

Step 4: Drop Off Your Containers

Take your collected containers to a depot. The friendly staff there will assist you in depositing your recyclables and generate funds (10c for every eligible container).

Step 5: Choose Wheelers Hill Primary School as Your Preferred Recipient

Once your account is set up, look for the option to choose a preferred recipient or organisation. Search for Wheelers Hill Primary School and select it as your designated beneficiary.

Every container counts for a healthier environment, and every contribution makes a difference in supporting our school. Thank you for your ongoing support, and let's make a positive impact for our school and the environment.

Planning for 2025

We are at that time of the year where we are in the process of planning for 2025. We know that some families unfortunately won’t be with us next year, due to moving to a new house or area etc. If that includes your family, we are sorry to see you leave our community. Please ensure that you call the school or email to inform us of your plans at your earliest convenience. This supports us with our planning for next year. We thank you for your support and understanding.

Assemblies in Term 4

Assemblies in Term 4 will be via Webex at 2:00pm each Friday afternoon. Parents are more than welcome to join via my Webex link :

Some assemblies will still be run on the oval. If this is the case, a post will be put on Compass well before the date.

Term 4

Term 4 starts on Monday 7th October. We look forward to seeing our students and families back at school then. Wishing you all a safe and relaxing holiday break.
