What a busy term it has been! Incursions, excursions, Maths Week, Science Week, sports days and market days and so many fun learning tasks in the classroom........it is no wonder the students are ready for a break! We have been very impressed and extremely proud of everyone's effort and attitude throughout Term 3. Thankyou to all of the parents and carers for your help at home, it certainly helps to make things run smoother here at school.
We had our second round of Summer Sport this week. Once again all of the students were exceptional in the way they represented Vermont Primary. It makes us very proud to hear teachers of other schools comment on the sportsmanship and positive attitudes being displayed by the students from Vermont. There will be teams progressing to the next level of competition, so stay tuned for those results.
Our Market Day was the culmination of many weeks of work by our Year 5 students. They had planned, budgeted for, produced, advertised and then sold some amazing products at their market yesterday. As a staff, we were extremely proud of their efforts in not only preparing their products, but also in the way they were able to work with the other members of their team to achieve their goal. We were excited to announce to the students today, that due to their efforts, we will be donating around $2600 to the Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda! This is a wonderful result and one that will directly affect the lives of people less fortunate than ourselves. A special thanks to you at home for helping your children organise times to meet with their group, the parents who were able to assist yesterday, and also to Kate and Karen in the office who have been busy collating receipts and counting money for us!
As we head into Term 4 a reminder that students will require hats for recess and lunch playtimes. If a student does not have a hat for these times then they must stay in the many sheltered areas that we have around school.
