Connect Crew

On behalf of all the Connect Crew, we would like to extend a warm welcome to Kate Shannon, our new SEL Facilitator. Kate has already hit the ground running this week, eagerly taking on her first Connect groups and making an immediate impact.

She will be dividing her time between working with the Connect Crew and providing classroom support, ensuring students receive the best possible experience. Kate brings a compassionate and caring approach to her work and is known for her positive energy and genuine love for helping others. Outside of work, Kate adores dogs and is always happy to share stories about her furry companion ‘George’. We are absolutely thrilled to have her as part of the team and know she will be an integral part of the program this term.

This week also saw the official start of Term 4 for the Connect Program, with all groups actively involved in different elements around the school. Most of the groups have been hard at work painting various rounds across the grounds, and we aim to have these completed over the next week.

A special highlight this week was having the Year 11 VM class join the Connect Crews on Monday and Tuesday. It was fantastic to see the older students getting involved, taking on leadership roles, and engaging with the hands-on learning environment. Their enthusiasm and efforts have been invaluable, and they also contributed by helping to build new benches that had arrived. The collaboration between the Year 11 students and the Connect Crews highlights the community-driven nature of the program, and it’s been rewarding to see how the program can enhance and benefit not only the students but the wider school community.

Additionally, all students in the Connect Program have set themselves personal term goals this week, focusing on both individual growth and contributions to their school community and we look forward to supporting each student as they work towards them throughout the term.

We’re excited for the term ahead and eager to see the continued positive impact the program has on both the students and the school grounds. Stay tuned for more updates!
