EMR Athletics 2024

On Wed 9 October we took a team of 50 students to the EMR Athletics Championships; a beautiful sunny day and no wind meant ideal conditions for our athletes. We successfully had 3 students make it through to the State Athletics Championships, an incredible achievement.  

 

Congratulations to the following athletes on making it through to State for the following events.  

Hailey Buckley 17 Girls – 100m Hurdles, 100m and 200m 

Holly Makaay 16 Girls – 800m and 1500m 

Jayvel Singh 17 Boys – 3000m 

 

Holly and Jayvel both made it through to the SSV State Cross Country Championships earlier this year and have now made it through for Athletics as well. State will be held on Monday 21 October at Victoria’s premier track – Lakeside Stadium.  

 

Below are the results of all of our podium finishes from EMR, we had 18 podium finishes in total:

Hailey Buckley: 100m Hurdles 16.93s, 100m 13.18s, 200m 27.15s  

Holly Makaay: 800m 2:27.81s 

 

2nd Place

Coleby Paton: 400m (no time)

Xavier Wood: 400m 56.40s

Hailey Buckley: 400m 1:02.81s

Holly Makaay: 1500m 5:11.28s

Jayvel Singh: 3000m 9:49.77s, 15 Boys 4 x 100m Relay: 48.87s
