Celebration Spot

Honouring and celebrating our student's achievements

Each week we love to celebrate any students who may have achieved something significant during sporting events, dancing, baptisms, theatre, music achievements etc. both inside school and outside school.

Please email reception@dcs.tas.edu.au with the details (we would love a photo too!) so we can celebrate together as a community.

3v3 Basketball Tournament

On Wednesday 4th September, DCS Secondary sent three teams to compete in a 3v3 Basketball tournament. Well done to all our competitors and thank you for your participation.  Our students achieved the following results:

  • Year 8 girls had a great run into the grand final, placing 2nd.
  • Year 8 boys played well all day, with Charlie being awarded the  MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the day for his age group.
  • Year 7 boys went the whole day undefeated and won the grand final! Nicholas was also awarded the MVP for his age group.

Touch Football Championships

Congratulations to Avery (Year 5), who will be competing in Coffs Harbour next week at the National Youth Championships for the Tassie Thunder Girls Under 12 team.  The team have been working hard over many months training across the State.  No doubt they will seize this opportunity the learn and grow in sport and as individuals. We wish you and the team all the very best Avery!

Eisteddfod

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Devonport Eisteddfods recently. Below are just a few of our students who performed.  If your child also recently performed and you would be happy for us to celebrate their achievement, please let us know by sending us a photo and brief details of the event they participated in and their results.
