Mental Health Awareness Photo Competition

In an inspiring move, two Year 8 boys, Armi and Caleb, have launched a photo competition for secondary school aimed at raising awareness for mental health.

With a keen understanding of the importance of emotional well-being, they designed the competition to encourage students to capture images about things that bring them joy, whether it is through landscapes, sports or everyday moments of interactions with pets.

Their initiative not only provides a creative outlet for students to express their feelings, but also fosters a sense of community and empathy, sparking important conversations and spreading awareness for mental health throughout the school. 

DCS Community Hot Lunch Day

On Thursday 26th September, the last day of term, students will have the opportunity to order a delicious hot pie or sausage roll for lunch from All Things Nice Bakery or a serve of hot chips from Charcoal Chicken!

Please note for students with dietary requirements: only the large sausage roll and hot chips are available in a gluten free option.

Order forms have been sent home with all students today, and copies are available from the school office.

Please return all orders and payments (cash only please) by Friday 20th September.

Casual Clothes Day: Sports Colours Day

On Thursday 26th September, our students will be having an end-of-term casual clothes/ sports colours day. Students in both Primary and Secondary are invited to wear sports colours or sports clothes (can be any sport), with money raised going to the Children's Cancer Foundation. If you don't have sports colours or clothes, just casual clothes are fine. Please ensure that clothes are appropriate with fully enclosed shoes to provide protection. Cost is a gold coin donation.

5 & 2

What is 5 & 2? It is a place for our secondary students to connect before the school day commences.

We all know the importance of a good breakfast (and how much teenagers eat!), so delicious fruit and snacks will be available to help start their day.

5 & 2 will be held every Thursday morning in the Secondary building from 8:00-8:25am.
