How Can I Continue to Learn as an Adult?

As parents, teachers and adults, we all have a profound responsibility to reflect Christ’s love in everything we do. Our influence reaches beyond our homes, shaping not only the lives of our children but also our families, friends and communities. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, 'Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.' Our children watch us closely, learning how to respond with grace, how to love others as Christ loves us and how to stand firm in their faith. Just as Jesus calls us to grow in His likeness, we are also called to continually seek growth in our own character and spiritual walk. As we grow in patience, love and understanding, we model these godly traits for those around us. Ephesians 4:15 encourages us to 'speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ.' Our growth is not just for us — it impacts our children and community. Let us be intentional in deepening our walk with Christ, knowing that through Him we can become the role models our families need, creating a lasting legacy of faith, love and grace for generations to come.

Every year since 2020, Devonport Christian School has been involved in allowing every community member to grow for a lasting legacy of faith, love and grace. This year you can again join our team on a day where we listen to world class speakers, encouraging us to grow! It is with enthusiasm that we invite you to participate in a transformative one-day event, the Global Leadership Summit (GLS24), happening on Saturday October 12th, right here in Devonport at the paranaple centre!

For those unfamiliar with it, the Global Leadership Summit is a global forum designed to inspire and equip individuals with high-impact leadership skills. Imagine a day saturated with practical insights from a diverse panel of global leaders! Each year, over 400,000 participants from 135 countries engage in this enlightening process of growth, and we at DCS are privileged to be one of the Premier Host Sites across Australia.

We firmly believe that everyone is a leader; parents, teachers, support staff and administrators. Why? Because leadership is about influence. And every single one of us, in our unique roles, influences others.
