Foundation/Grade 1
Buddies
On Wednesday we had lots of fun with our senior student buddies making our Easter baskets! It was a wonderful opportunity for the Foundation & Grade 1 students to connect with the Grade 5/6 students to collaborate on the task. The younger students enjoyed talking to the Grade 5/6's and were very proud of the final results.
Easter Fun with Kinder Kids
Today children from Shine Bright Rochester joined us for the Easter parade and some Easter fun. It was lovely to see the Foundation & Grade 1 students be inclusive towards the younger children and collaborate at different stations.

Grade 2
English
Our Story Book learning sequence concluded with the students completing an imaginative writing piece from Shaun the Sheep. Sean is a shearer, and instead of a sheepdog to help him, he's got a sheep sheep – Pete. After being rejected by the other shearers and their dogs, Sean and Pete set up a sheep salon in town. Sheep from everywhere arrive to have their wool shorn in the latest style, and even the shearers' dogs end up arriving for a cut in order to look gorgeous.
The students planned how the story continues by creating a plan about who comes in, what they want and what happens. Here are some of their work samples...
Alyssa- Rose the Rhino excitably ran into Shaun’s salon. She cartwheeled into the chair. When it was her turn , she was excited because it was her first time. Shaun plaited rose’s hair and then dyed it pink. When Shaun was finished Rose was very happy, so she happily skipped out of the salon to share the good news.
Freddie- Zack the Hyena skated into the salon to get a mohawk, he entertained the salon by hummin. When he got his hair done people came to hear Zack humming so Shaun gave him a free haircut. Zack spent his money on a new toy!
Ayla- Molly the Koala wanted a new hairstyle so she went in the car to Shaun's salon. She jumped on the chair because she wanted pink braids. When she left she was so happy and excited to show her friends.
Jace- First Freddie the dog went into the door, she told Shaun that he wanted a blue and black mullet. Freddie put his ear pods in and sat getting his hair done enjoying the music.

Wrap Up – Term 1
What an incredible term it has been for our Grade 5/6 students! They have embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate together through exciting school events such as Golden Hammer Day, Harmony Day, and the Be Brave Clinic.
Our Grade 6 students have also formed wonderful friendships with their prep buddies, showing kindness and leadership as they support the younger students. In the classroom, everyone has worked hard in English, crafting engaging narrative stories, while in Inquiry, they explored the theme "My Identity," creating fantastic posters about themselves and their positive traits using Canva. It has truly been a fantastic term filled with learning, teamwork, and memorable moments. Well done, Grade 5/6!
