The latest news!

Dear Parents, Carers and Supporters of St Joseph’s School,

Classroom Mastery – Behaviour Curriculum

Last Tuesday, staff participated in the Classroom Mastery Teacher Masterclass.

Classroom Mastery focuses on fostering calm, supportive, and positive learning environments through consistent practices, shared expectations, and established social norms.

This approach is projected to add 10–15 minutes of learning time to each block daily, amounting to 30–45 minutes per day and 150–225 minutes per week.

Students will also learn structured routines for entering and exiting the classroom, along with a signal that indicates readiness to begin learning. Teachers have contributed to shaping these routines, ensuring they retain the personal connections they value with their classes

VRQA Review Outcome

We are thrilled to share that the review outcome has been a success!

While the full report is yet to be received, the feedback confirms that we are compliant with all 120 standards.

This achievement stands as a true testament to the dedication and relentless efforts of our staff, who not only work tirelessly to educate every child at St Joseph’s but also diligently uphold the numerous policies and procedures required of them.

Easter Parade and Raffle draw

Thanks to everyone for attending our Easter hat parade and Raffle draw.. It was wonderful to be able to welcome so many visitors to our school for this event.

We were thrilled with the response to the raffle, raising $1648. This will ensure that we can continue to offer quality learning spaces for our children.

Whooping Cough

Thank you for your cooperation during this period.

We are hopeful that the upcoming holidays will help disrupt the cycle.

Our gratitude goes to the Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit for their guidance and support. We have learned that to be removed from their ‘watch’ list, we must go through two full incubation periods without any new exposure—equivalent to 42 days.

Fingers crossed for this! 🤞🏻

Kelly Sports Holiday Program

In our effort to achieve 42 days free of Whooping Cough exposures, and given the presence of Whooping Cough in the Rochester Community, we have made the tough decision to cancel this terms holiday program.

Please stay tuned to our Facebook page, where we’ll share other Kelly Sports opportunities available in nearby towns.

Term 2 dates flyer was sent home with children on the last day of school.

If your child was away, they will receive this when they return on Monday 28th April.

Pop it on the fridge to stay up to date with our plans for Term 2.

As the holidays begin, we would like to thank you for your continued support and contributions to our community. We look forward to welcoming you back refreshed and ready for a successful term ahead.

Stay safe and enjoy the holidays!

As always, if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
