Students enjoyed partaking in raft building and tackling the pump track and downhill tracks on bikes. The camp concluded with a bus ride back to school, filled with happy memories from a fantastic trip.
Young Leaders Day
by Harry Hobson and Lyla Gault
On Tuesday 25 March the Year 6 School Leadership Team attended the Halogen Young Leaders Day in Sydney. We listened to four amazing speakers; Emma McKeon (Australia’s most successful Olympian), Catherine Laga’aia (actress who will play Moana in the upcoming Disney Blockbuster), Anthony Carroll (Bondi Rescue Lifeguard) and Thomas Duncan-Watt (Screenwriter and Author).
We enjoyed listening to them tell us about their missions and achievements, we also got some photos with them!
The message I remember most from Thomas is that it is okay to fail and that you should get back up and go again (Lyla).
Anthony taught us that even when you are scared you should always give it a go! (Harry)
Generous Catholic MissioDonation from Pippa Galton
I chose to donate $100 of my own birthday money because I would like everyone to be treated fairly. At first I put $50 of my birthday money into the donation box and I didn’t mean to give $100. When I checked I realised but I knew that it was going to a great cause so I thought I should put it all in! They haven't got as much as we do & I feel very sad because I believe that living with nothing would be very hard. Right now it is Lent which is the season of giving so I decided I’m definitely giving my birthday money. I think that it will help them to be less food insecure, make sure they have enough food, water and shelter. Pippa Galton
