A Prayer for Flood Victims

Heavenly Father,

We lift up to you the people of Western Queensland, Australia, who are facing the devastating impact of flooding. We pray for their safety, their well-being, and the strength to endure these difficult times. Grant them your comfort and peace as they navigate this crisis. We ask for your guidance for the rescue and recovery efforts, and that those who have lost homes and belongings may find refuge and support. May your love and compassion surround them, and may they find hope and resilience in your grace. We pray for the swift return to normalcy and for the healing of the land.

Amen.

Confirmation Retreat Day

This week we held our Yr 6 Confirmation Retreat Day. We had a very special day together where we finalised our preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation this Sunday. The students and teachers gathered together for a morning of prayer and reflection with a few special treats that represented the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Candidates then went to the Church for Reconciliation before finishing with a BBQ which Fr Abmar and Fr Antony joined us for. Thankyou to our BBQ cooks, Fiona and Miles Johnson, Kate Hardy and Mr Jaeger. The sausages were cooked to perfection!

Infant’s Liturgy

Last Tuesday all of the students from Kindergarten to Year 2 gathered in the church for our Term 1 Infant’s Liturgy. It was lovely to have family members join us and their singing was definitely enthusiastic. Thankyou to Fr Antony who led our liturgy and welcomed us into the Church.

Jubilee Mass

On Tuesday the 25th of March some of our students traveled to Armidale to attend the Diocesan Jubilee Day. They participated in a special procession through the park before attending Mass in the Cathedral. During mass, the miniature Cathedral was introduced. It will be travelling to different places in the Armidale Diocese. We will have a chance to see the miniature Cathedral when it comes to Gunnedah at the end of Term 3.

At the end of Mass the students were able to look around the Cathedral and Mr Martin showed them the special chair where the Bishop sits and explained that no one else is able to sit on the chair.

The Mass in the Cathedral was really special to be a part of and the Cathedral itself is spectacular. It will be exciting see the miniature Cathedral when it comes to Gunnedah.
