As we journey through Lent, the Feast of the Annunciation reminds us of Mary's courageous "Yes" to God's plan. This feast, celebrated on March 25th, invites us to reflect on how we can say "Yes" to Jesus in our own lives.
This feast is a beautiful reminder of the power of faith and trust. I encourage you to explore some of these activities with your children to deepen their understanding of Lent and encourage them to live out their faith in meaningful and practical ways.
Suggested activities:
Prayer and reflection - Take time daily to align your life with God's will. There are a range of guided meditations and prayers readily available online to listen to as a family or simply saying a prayer together before bed or a meal.
Service to others: Embody Mary's selfless spirit by serving others with kindness and compassion. Consider visiting or calling someone you haven't seen in a while to check in and remind them that you care, it is important for children to understand how we can love our neighbour and see this in action.
Forgiveness: Choose to forgive others, just as God forgives us. Help your children at home to forgive one another when they have a conflict, model empathy.
Kindness and compassion: Show kindness to those around you, encourage your child to help with chores at home or help a particular family member or friend in need.
Reminder of upcoming events - as always, you are warmly invited to join us for these sacred celebrations.
Palm Sunday Liturgy: Monday 7 April, 8:40am at morning assembly
Stations of the Cross (Infants) Tuesday 8 April from 11:30am - 12:30pm in the church
Stations of the Cross (Primary) Wednesday 9 April from 11:30am - 12:30pm in the church
May this Lenten season be a time to deepen your relationship with Jesus. May Mary's example inspire you to say "Yes" to His plan for you.
God Bless,
Nancy Kubti
