Learning and Thriving in 25!

Naplan - Years 3 and 5

Congratulations to our Year 3 and 5 students who completed their NAPLAN assessments over the past two weeks. The students approached these assessments with confidence and dedication.

Results from these assessments will be sent to parents later in the year. NAPLAN results are reported against proficiency standards with 4 levels of achievement to give teachers, parents and carers clearer information on how students are performing. The four proficiency standards are:

  • Exceeding
  • Strong
  • Developing
  • Needs Additional Assistance

We look forward to celebrating these results with our community later this year.

Creating a culture of learning, thriving, respect and partnership at StMM’s:

At StMM’s, we believe that strong partnerships between students, parents, and staff are key to building a safe and supportive learning environment where every child feels a sense of belonging. Respect is one of our core values, and we encourage all students to communicate openly, honestly, and positively, while understanding and celebrating each other’s uniqueness.

As a school community, we stand together against unkind, mean and hurtful behaviour. It is never acceptable to hurt others—physically, socially, or emotionally. Throughout this term, our staff and students have engaged in discussions about building positive friendships and developing strategies to handle challenging situations.

Working Together to Foster Respect and Resilience

At StMM’s, we are committed to promoting kindness, respect, and inclusivity. By maintaining a positive attitude, showing respect to others, and using good manners, we create an environment where every child feels valued and supported.

We encourage parents to partner with us by:

  • Talking to your child about friendships, respect, and how to respond to unkind behaviour.

  • Helping your child understand the difference between bullying and normal peer conflict.

  • Encouraging your child to speak up if they witness exclusion or unkindness.

  • Seeking support from teachers if concerns arise so that we can work together on solutions.

By staying connected as a community, we can nurture a culture of respect, resilience and positive relationships—ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Together, we can make a difference!

Attendance - every day counts!

Thank you to all families who continue to support the school and their child’s education by ensuring that their child attends every possible day at school. Absences from school due to illness are totally understandable. When children are sick, they need to be at home and return to school when they have recovered.

Unnecessary absences directly affect the learning of  students.  Parents are asked to keep this in mind especially as we move towards the school holiday period. Additional days for holidays at this time need to be kept to an absolute minimum. All extended leave must be approved.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.

God Bless
