Mrs Deborah Crane
We have had another beautiful week - Cold week, but lovely all the same!
I want to take a moment to celebrate you.
Thank you for being a supportive and valued part of our school community. I always speak very highly of our parent community because we have a strong relationship which is centred around the children and of kindness.
Parenting is one of the most rewarding—and demanding—journeys a person can take.
In all of our routines, responsibilities, and the never-ending to-do lists, it’s easy to forget how much of a difference you’re making each and every day to your child/ren.
Please remember: your presence matters more than you think. The hugs, the shared laughter, the bedtime stories, and even the occasional tough days all help shape your child’s world. You’re doing an incredible job, even if it doesn’t always feel that way all the time.
We also need to remember that being a parent is tough and that you need to make decisions for your children and sometimes they will not agree with the decisions you have made. This is okay.
It is okay for your child to feel unhappy or sad at times, its part of life and part of learning how to deal with all the various emotions we do have! We do teach the scale of emotions in our school and use the disaster scale when speaking to students around events and teaching them to understand their feelings and how they are responding appropriately.
This week, take a deep breath and give yourself credit.
Celebrate the small wins. And if things feel overwhelming, know you’re not alone, you are not the only parent that feels this way at times. I've been there too and even though my children are adults, there is always something to challenge us.
The school is an environment for you also to seek some assistance, advice ( if we can) or even help to offer suggestions on further help. Please
Next Tuesday, our School Council President, Peter Van Buuren along with Bala Lange (school council member) and myself will be meeting with Mr Anthony Cianflone at his office to discuss PVNPS, on behalf of the school community.
We have an agenda. It is about our ‘Strategy on a Page’ – our ‘Big Picture’ for our school moving forward. We will discuss how wonderful our school community is and what our community would like to see further supported for our children.
These are bigger items than what we cannot fundraise for and doesn’t involve our curriculum programs as we are well and truly doing fabulous with this – but its for more within our school environment: inclusive nature playground, all weather shelter for whole school (gymnasium), oval to be improved, etc..
