Senior News!
A huge well done to all our Grade 5 students for completing their NAPLAN assessments! Students were settled, focused, and put in their best effort throughout the testing period. For those who were absent, make-up tests will continue to ensure every student has the opportunity to complete all assessments.
SLC students are being encouraged to try out for the Shepparton Championship Team sports in netball, football, soccer, and softball/T-ball, which will be held on the 23rd of May. This competition is designed for students who are already proficient in these sports and eager to represent our school.
Later in the year, the Lightning Premiership will provide a fantastic opportunity for all students to participate, develop their skills, and experience the excitement of team sports.
For our English studies, we are studying the following texts.
Year 5 - War Horse by Michael Morpurgo and How Was That Built by Roma Agrawal.
Year 6 - The Silver Donkey by Sonya Hartnett.
Students have had lots of questions and wonderful discussions which explore themes such as war, death, bravery, courage and peace due to our texts relating to World War 1.
Please note that these texts are selected for us and meet the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum.
