Reminder: Parking Restrictions Around Our School
We kindly remind everyone to be mindful of parking restrictions around our school to ensure the safety of our students and the smooth operation of daily drop-offs and pick-ups.
Please avoid parking in designated bus zones, which are located on:
- Broadway Street
- Hay Avenue
- Gregory Street
These areas are strictly reserved for school buses. Parking in these zones can create congestion and pose safety risks for students boarding or exiting buses.
We also ask that you refrain from parking in the staff car park, as this area is reserved for staff members only.
Additionally, we ask that you do not park in the senior citizens' car park on Hay Avenue. This parking area is reserved for elderly members of our community, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping it accessible for them.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our school community safe and respectful for everyone
Important Update: Hay Avenue Crossing Changes
Moira Shire has informed us that the School Crossing on Hay Avenue has been refurbished and changed to a Pedestrian Crossing. As a result, there will no longer be school crossing flags displayed during school pick-up and drop-off times.
However, our school crossing supervisor will still be present at the beginning and end of the school day to assist students and families in crossing safely.
The permanent yellow signs indicate that this is now a Pedestrian Crossing, meaning vehicles must give way to pedestrians at all times, day and night.
We ask all drivers to approach with caution and always give way to those using the crossing.
For further information or clarification, please contact Moira Shire directly. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe.
Lunch Orders & Ordering
Lunch orders, provided by Hungie Fangs, can be placed through the My School Connect app. Orders close promptly at 8:30 AM each day. This service is available from Tuesday to Friday.
Out of Uniform on Your Birthday
At St. Joseph's, we encourage students to wear casual clothes on their birthday. This is so everyone can recognise it is their birthday, greet them as such and celebrate with them on their special day.
ANZAC Day
As always St. Joseph's School will be showing their support of the RSL and ANZAC Day by inviting students and their families to march and join the main service on Friday 25th April (Term 2, Week 1).
Leading up to ANZAC Day, we will be selling merchandise to help raise money for returned veterans and their families. On offer are a selection of pins/badges, pens and wrist bands ranging in price from $1-$5. If you would like to support this cause, our Catholic Identity Team leaders will be selling items before school in the last two weeks of Term 1 (Week 9 & 10). This is because the students will still be on holidays in the week leading up to ANZAC Day.
