From milk to the final product, the kids discovered the magic behind their favourite cheesy snacks. To make it even more special, everyone got to sample a variety of delicious cheeses! It was a fun and educational experience that left the students with full bellies and big smiles. Thank you to Saputo for such a tasty and informative visit!

HARMONY DAY
Today, March 21st, is Harmony Day - a day that celebrates the country's rich cultural diversity and promotes inclusivity, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone, coinciding with the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
There are many great picture story books out there that you can read with your child/ren. Below is the link to a book called 'We All Sing With the Same Voice'. The original song is from Sesame Street and is about the differences and commonalities between us! You might like to share this story with your children.

Library Borrowing
Next week (Week 9), will be the last week for borrowing for Term 1. We kindly ask that all library books be returned on Monday 31st March so that library staff can return books and organise library housekeeping in readiness for Term 2.
Watch this space as there will be lots of new books hitting the shelves as a result of your generous support of Scholastic Book Club and the materials we have purchased with the commission we receive.
Please ensure your child brings their blue folder or another appropriate bag to school each day so that when they visit the library they can borrow. It is important that we teach the children to take care of our books by keeping them clean and free from damage – thus the need for a bag.
Students have the opportunity to borrow during their LOTE (Italian) lesson as well as visiting the library with their classroom teacher. The library is also open before school each day (8:30-8:50am), giving students the opportunity to change their books regularly.
If any parents want to borrow from the library, they are also welcome to. Just pop in and see Mrs Natale and we can set you up.
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS)
TheNational Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) event in 2025, taking place on May 21st, will focus on the book "The Truck Cat" by Deborah Frenkel. The Truck Cat is a story about cats and humans, immigration and identity, and homes lost and found.
For National Simultaneous Storytime 2025, and to create a little fun here at St Joseph's, we are encouraging students to take photos of themselves with their cat (or any other animal friend) while reading "The Truck Cat" by Deborah Frenkel, and share these with Mrs Natale at carmelnatale@sjcobram.catholic.edu.au
so we can collate and make a powerpoint presentation to use closer to the event.
If you would like your child to be a part of this, either email Mrs Natale or send in a written note, and she will collate a list, sending a copy of the book home with your child. We ask that you read the book and take a photo within a couple of days so that we can keep circulating the book to as many families as possible. Once read, don't forget to return the book and send your photos in.
