Grateful-Thanks

As Term One comes to an end, I reflect over the past 10 weeks with gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of so many within our school community.  Thank you to the many parents who have helped whether that be serving pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, attending our Opening Mass or our Youth Masses, participating in the Solidarity Walk, attending our Ash Wednesday and Holy Week liturgies and of course our courtyard assemblies.

I applaud the efforts of all our dedicated staff for their contributions in delivering the new Religious Education Source of Life Curriculum, their commitment to your child’s education is inspiring and uplifting. Thank you St Brendan’s staff. Thank you also to our children for embracing the many new learning opportunities offered by your teachers, to further develop knowledge, understanding and spiritual growth.  As I visit each class to see their completed pieces of work, I am always humbled by the genuine efforts our students put into all their Religious Education assessment pieces.  Well done girls and boys.  Finally, the reverence our students show when attending Mass and participating in our whole school assemblies and courtyard liturgies is always encouraging to witness, as our students grow in faith, respect, and understanding of the importance of these sacred moments.

Thank you students, teachers and families.

CARITAS- Solidarity Walk

Our students walked in Solidarity, Friday, 28th March.  Every year our students are actively involved in Social Justice through this walk.  The Solidarity Walk, raises an awareness about Social Justice for those who live in impoverished countries with no running water in their homes to cook, clean or wash with.

A big thank you to all our families who provided their children with a GOLD COIN DONATION. The Solidarity Walk raised just on $151.60 for CARITAS.

Thank you to the families and younger siblings who joined the students for the walk and Father Adi who also came along to support and encourage our students as they walked laps of the oval.  We always appreciate and enjoy the extra participation and involvement from our families during these events. Thank you for your support and generous donations throughout this LENTEN SEASON, it is greatly appreciated.

Our Donations so far include:

Pancake Tuesday:  $230.70

Solidarity Walk:       $151.60

Caritas family Donation Boxes:  To be advised

Project Compassion Donation Boxes

Thank you very much to all the families who have made generous donations to CARITAS through the Project Compassion Boxes. Your generous donations will help provide goods, services and education to those less fortunate through Caritas Australia.

A final tally will be carried out today for all our Caritas Fundraising efforts and a final cheque will be sent to Kerry Stone our Sandhurst Diocesan Coordinator for CARITAS and JUSTICE.

Thank you again to all our St Brendan's families and our wonderful students.  Your generosity and involvement in our school's Caritas Fundraising efforts this term is always inspiring and uplifting.

Sacramental Program

We continue to pray for our Sacramental children who will make the sacrament of Reconciliation this coming weekend.  As our parish-based Sacramental Program prepares students for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist and Reconciliation, we are reminded of our own rites of passage, of journey, of preparation and faith.

The Lenten season has provided our Catholic and Christian families opportunity to pray, to give alms and, to fast as we have celebrated Holy Week and look forward to the Easter mystery in the coming weeks.  Our Muslim families are now well into the season of Ramadan, similarly praying, fasting, reflecting and community gathering. Members of our Indian community will soon celebrate ‘Holi’ the Hindhu Festival of Colours.  We are blessed to have families from diverse religious backgrounds within our school community and wish everyone a blessed Easter Season.

RCIA Program – Miss Millie Casey

We wish Miss Millie Casey all the best and keep her in our prayers as she enters into her final weeks of preparation for her Sacraments of Initiation.

Millie will make her Sacraments of Initiation at St Brendan’s Church over the Easter weekend.

Have a Blessed Easter everyone and

we hope to see families attending some of the Easter services held

within our church over the Easter period these holidays.

Kind Regards,

Leanne Pellegrino (Catholic Identity Leader)
