A message from our Principal

Dear St. Brendan's School Community,
Congratulations to our students and teachers for a fantastic term!
As I reflect on our journey, I’m reminded of our school theme,
“We are Pilgrims of Hope.”
This term, we’ve embarked on the Magnify Sandhurst initiative, working together to improve student outcomes and foster outstanding learning growth for every child.
In our classrooms, teachers have been implementing InitialLit (F-2) and Ochre (F-6) programs, and we look forward to continuing to learn and enhance our practices as we move into Term 2.
We also launched our Japanese Language program this term, which has been enjoyed by all!
Behavior Curriculum
This week, we hosted a Teacher Masterclass with Knowledge Society, in partnership with Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd, to support the implementation of a new behavior curriculum in our schools.
It was a pleasure working alongside the staff from St. John’s Euroa, who joined us for the day. We had a productive time collaborating and discussing ways to continue fostering a safe, calm, and orderly school environment.
We’re excited to begin rolling out the behavior curriculum in Term 2.
Staff Professional Development Days - Week 1 Term 2
Please note there will be no school for students on Tuesday, 22nd April, Wednesday, 23rd April, and Thursday, 24th April of Term 2.
During this time, all staff at St Brendan’s will participate in a three-day professional development program with Jarrod Cooney-Horvath on the Science of Learning, alongside all Catholic Education Sandhurst Schools.
Additionally, Monday 21st April is Easter Monday (Public Holiday) and Friday, 25th April marks ANZAC Day (Public Holiday), meaning students will have a three-week holiday break.
School Website and Social Media
This week, a photographer visited our school to take photos to help us update our website. We are also excited to announce that St Brendan’s is now on Instagram!
Be sure to follow us on both Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.

School Uniforms and Smart Devices
A quick reminder about our school uniform and smart device policy:
- Smart devices (including phones and smartwatches) are not required during the school day. If your child needs a device for after-school purposes, it must be dropped off at the school office before school and collected at the end of the day.
- Earrings should be simple studs/sleepers.
- Hair longer than shoulder length should be tied up with a green or black hair tie.
As we transition into Term 2, we will communicate in Week 1 about when students are to begin wearing their winter uniforms.
Barker Ave and Knight Street Gates - Child Safety Update
For the safety and security of all students, we will be closing the Barker Ave and Knight Street gates at 8:55 am each morning. Any students arriving after this time will need to enter the school grounds via the front office.
If you are picking up your child during the day, please ensure you visit the front office and sign your child out via the iPad system.
The gates will be reopened at the end of the day for home pickup. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.
School Evacuation Drill
On Monday this week, we conducted an Emergency Evacuation Drill. These drills will occur each term, alternating between evacuation and lockdown procedures. They offer valuable opportunities for students, staff and visitors to practice the correct actions in the event of a real threat or emergency situation.
Students and staff did a fantastic job during this drill, with everyone evacuated and accounted for in under 8 minutes. Additionally, our staff regularly participates in both online and face-to-face training to stay up to date with emergency management procedures.
Open Day
We are excited to announce our Open Day for 2026 Enrolments!
Our Open Days will take place on Tuesday, May 6th, and Wednesday, 21st May, with sessions at 9:15 am, 10:15 am and 4:30 pm on both dates.
