Year 1

As we come closer to the end of the school year, Year 1 continues to work hard. With interesting topics in the units and fun Christmas activities ahead, the days are busy.
We are all excited about the Christmas Concert. Classes have been practising their lovely songs and actions. We are grateful to the PACE committee and Mrs Hughes and Mrs Allan for all the work they are putting in to organise the “Carols in the Courtyard”.
In Religious Education, Year 1 has completed the unit on Creation. Students reflected on our wonderful world that God has made, how amazing it is and how we can look after it. The artwork, completed with this unit, are true masterpieces.
In Science, Yr 1 has been learning about Sound and how it travels in waves. To end the unit, children will be making their own instruments to demonstrate the way vibrations work to produce sound.
Congratulations 1Y on a fun assembly. We thought the jokes were very funny and we loved the artwork.
Wreaths in art are being made to put on your doors at home and Christmas baubles are being coloured. It’s a very exciting time in Year 1.
