Year 7 Camp

Year 7 Level Coordinators
At the end of Term 1, the Year 7 cohort headed off on a three-day camp that was all about building connections and challenging themselves. From the moment the buses rolled out, the energy was high – helped along by some enthusiastic singalongs that quickly set the tone for an exciting camp experience.
The camp kicked off with students setting personal goals – whether that was to step outside their comfort zone, try something new, or simply get to know a few more people in the year level. These goals were revisited at the end of camp, giving students the chance to reflect and share their achievements with their activity groups.
It was inspiring to hear how many students not only met their goals, but also made genuine new friendships and strengthened existing ones.
Each day was packed with activities that pushed students to try new things and also to encourage and support each other. Some standout favourites included the adrenaline-pumping giant swing, canoeing on the
lake, mountain biking through winding trails and hitting multiple bullseyes during archery sessions.
The nights were just as exciting where stargazing with Ms Stroh and her telescope gave a group of students the chance to slow down and observe the details of the moon and the night sky. The disco event also showed off some of our best entertainers in Year 7 with a night full of singing and dancing.
There was a positive buzz throughout the entire three days. With cheers of encouragement at the Leap of Faith, laughter at shared mealtimes, and conversations that carried on well into the evenings. By the time the buses pulled back into school, they were filled with some very tired young people, however they had not only made memories on camp but also laid the foundation for a more connected and supportive year with one another and with their teachers.
Year 7 camp provided a fantastic highlight at the end of Term 1 - filled with positivity, connection and lots and lots of fun. As coordinators, we were very proud to see so many students push themselves out of their comfort zone. This term they have all returned to school with some new memories, new friendships and high spirits ready to face the rest of the year!

My favourite memory from Year 7 camp was washing the dishes with friends and calling ourselves The A Team. Joking around with friends made the camp even more worthwhile.

I liked the Disco, it was fun. The vibes were very good and they played some bangers!

I really loved the scavenger race at the end of camp because there was lots of teamwork opportunities and it was like all the activities of camp combined, so all the fun combined. Bmy team was lucky I was there, otherwise no one would have known which flag was the flag of Butan!

I loved [staying in] the cabins We got to eat snacks, made heaps of jokes and laughed a lot in our cabin!
Scarlett Stevens
My favourite memory was going on the rafts - everyone kept on splashing each other. Even though it was annoying, it was a lot of fun to get splashed and even more fun to see people fall into the lake!

I hadn't realised how high the high ropes were and felt quite intimidated when I saw them, but I got into the harness just in case I changed my mind! I assisted my team and helped them face their fears, and then after some time I decided I would give it a go. So I climbed as high as I could - which wasn't very high - but I still pushed myself and I am proud of that!
