Over this semester, the SRC have been working hard to address students' needs as well as to hold events and provide fun opportunities for our school community. Events are an important way for our community members (students, staff, parents and carers) to engage with each other, and to connect and contribute to the community and the world around us.
In the past few weeks, members of the SRC have set up an exciting new initiative - the Stationery Share Box.
The stationary box is located in the Library, and students are encouraged to dispose of any unwanted or unused stationery into the box, making these items available to other students free of charge.
The Stationery Share is located in the Library (beside the Sign In sheet) and is easily accessible to all students. Students from all year levels are encouraged to donate to and/or share from any available stock, if they are in need of it. This is a great way to reduce waste, and to help each other out at the same time!
If you have any stationery you don’t need anymore (or are in need of some items) don’t hesitate to pay it a visit to the Library!
Just a reminder that donations toward any of the SRC fundraising events are collected either via gold coin on the day, or via Compass - where students, staff, parents or carers have the opportunity to donate via electronic transfer.
We were pleased to hold Casual Dress Day to last week, with students and families using the occasion to donate to our 2025 charity - Meals With Impact. In addition, the SRC ran a sausage sizzle on the day to raise a few extra dollars.
Thank you to all the SRC members who work so hard to make sure these events are a lot of fun, and many thanks to our generous community for stepping up to support such an important charity.
We are pleased to report that BSC's Casual for a Cause (May 23) raised an impressive amount of $1724.45 on the day.
We are confident that we can reach our $10,000 goal for 2025 - and really make a difference for Meals With impact.
On June 18, the SRC will host a DIY Big Freeze event, with twelve brave students and staff volunteering to endure the Ice Bucket Challenge.
All funds raised from this event will go to MND research.
The FightMND Army has raised more than $115 million over the past 10 years which has helped to fund vital research, to support Australians living with MND, and to drive progress toward a cure.
We know that the BSC community will be keen to join this army!
The BSC Shave for a Cure event will take place in Term 3.
We already have 6 volunteers for the event - 3 students and 3 teachers - and if you would like to become involved, please contact your SRC Year Level Representative.
