It has always been important to celebrate and encourage our school’s spirit and values, and this is why we are so proud of those who have participated in our 2025 Swimming and Athletics Carnivals.
Congratulations and good luck to those students who are going on to compete at Division level in athletics.
Special mention, of course, to the House that not only won, but has excelled - earning the right to ring the Brunswick Bell at both carnivals this year: Cagaar!
As was the Swimming Carnival, Athletics Day was a huge success this year. We had so many great outcomes and several impressive records broken! We send a special shout out to the following students:
Luca Adams (Year 12), Chris Borggreve (Year 7), Oliver Gee (Year 8), Zoe Gough (Year 8), Ben Harper (Year 10), Avery Hutchison (Year 9), Aoife Martin (Year 11), Andreja Mohar (Year 9), Allen Ponce (Year 7) , Rangi Simanjuntak (Year 9), Evie Van Rooyen (Year 11) and Noah Vugdelija (Year 12) – all of who achieved more than commendable results!
Excitingly, personal records and awards weren’t the only thing worth reporting on - all credit to the many students who dressed up for the occasion! Some of the most memorable costumes included a corn cob, an inflatable shark and a banana - and as per usual the colourful tutus-and-sparkles, (lollies are given out to those in their house colours).
Special thanks to the VCE Vocational Major students who again ran their excellent sausage sizzle - which is really enjoyed and appreciated by everyone!
We know that everyone enjoyed this year’s sporting carnivals and we thoroughly recommend all students to join in the fun next year!

The Athletics Carnival was a great day out for all involved, with the sun shining and some fantastic participation across the year levels. Records were smashed and the vibe was awesome as the students worked their way through the various track and field events.
It was a huge effort from the BSC staff who fulfilled a range of roles throughout the day. I’d like to give a big shout out to these staff for their support as they put in an amazing effort to help the day run smoothly.
Sport carnivals provide an excellent opportunity to socialise and strengthen the relationships within our school community whilst enjoying some friendly competition and more importantly having a laugh together. From cooking and serving at the BBQ, tending to first aid, competing in the shot put or measuring the long jump, everyone was committed, involved and having a great time. I encourage anyone who missed out this year to jump on board and join in on the fun in 2026!
Congratulations to Cagaar for another dominant display making it a Swimming and Athletics double! We’ll find out soon if they can take the Cross Country title and make it a clean sweep for 2025! Finally, good luck to all students who will represent BSC in the Division, Region and State competitions. I look forward to seeing you compete at the next level!

Friendly House competition was evident, but what really stood out was the spirit of support and camaraderie on the day - everyone cheered each other on and lifted each other up. Students were having a great time, and staff were having a great time too
