On Monday 5 May, we celebrate 'Kodomo no hi' – Children's Day which is a cheerful day that celebrates the happiness and prosperity of children. We would love to see everyone get involved by making an origami koi to display at the College.
Please click the videos below for instructions. Write your name on your finished piece and give it to Mrs Allan or Ms Alderdice by Wednesday 30 April (Week 1 of Term Two).
You can use your own paper or there will be origami paper and a collection box in the Library.

Japanese Children's Day
The national Japanese holiday 'Kodomo no hi' – Children's Day is about encouraging children to be strong and resilient and wishing them health and happiness.
On Saturday 3 May, Hobart City will celebrate this day at the Youth Arts and Recreation Centre (YARC) with activities based on the themes of children's day, as well as learning about Japanese culture and customs. Activities will include:
Climb the Kumundar Gujo – jungle gym constructed of traditional Japanese woodworking techniques.
Find a Japanese story book among the Australian Wooden Boat Festival's travelling book barge.
Meet the adorable bonito fish Yai Chan, Yaizu City's mascot.
Make some cool origami – we'll show you how!
Add your dot to a community made koinobori (carp streamer).
Try some yummy Japanese foods
See the interesting Japanese arts, crafts, cultural displays.
