đď¸ Holy Week Reflection & Prayer | Mount Carmel Catholic College đď¸
As we enter Holy Week next week, the most sacred time in our Church calendar, we are invited to journey with Jesus through the final days of His earthly life - a journey marked by love, sacrifice, and the promise of new life.
From the joyful hosannas of Palm Sunday to the quiet service of Holy Thursday, from the sorrow of Good Friday to the glory of Easter Sunday, we are called to walk closely with Christ and to reflect on what His Paschal Mystery means in our own lives.
Holy Week week offers us a moment to pause, pray, and open our hearts to the transforming love of Jesus. May we find inspiration in His example of humility and courage, and may His Resurrection bring renewed hope to our College, our families, and our world.
Let us pray together:
Â
A Prayer for Holy WeekÂ
Lord Jesus,Â
As we remember Your journey to the Cross,Â
Help us to carry our own crosses with grace.Â
Teach us to love deeply, serve humbly,Â
And forgive freely, just as You did.Â
May the sorrow of Good Friday Give way to the joy of Easter morning in our hearts.Â
Strengthen our community in faith and hope,Â
And guide us to live as people of the Resurrection.Â
Amen.
No Greater Love
A shout out to the Archdiocese of Hobart for their production of âNo Greater Loveâ, a passion play. With students from the College involved as well as actors from the Community, there have been rave reviews for the two performances at the Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre at GYC Glenorchy. The final performance will be tomorrow, Friday 11 April at 6.45pm for those interested in starting Holy Week in this special way. Entry is free. Congratulations especially to Father Shammi Perera, Christelle Ghanam and the Jiljil Family for their stellar performances!
Mid-Year Reports
Mid Year Reports this year will be released in the last week of Term Two. Please note that with changed CET policies, these will no longer include written comments. These have been replaced by our regular opportunities to meet in learning conversations with a clear focus on improving student outcomes. Reports will still include appropriate rating and reference to expectations.
Student Free Day
A reminder Mount Carmel College will have a student free day for students in Kinder to Year 10 on June the 6th, creating a four day long weekend. This will be a fantastic opportunity for students to refresh, staff will be participating in a planning and moderation day on the Friday.
Term One Holidays
As we come to the end of a busy and fulfilling Term One, the holidays provide a valuable opportunity for rest, recovery, and renewal. This time away from the routines of school is a chance for students, staff, and families to slow down, reflect, and recharge. As we journey through the Easter season - a time of hope, new life, and resurrection - we are reminded of the importance of taking time to nourish our minds, bodies, and spirits. May this break be one of peace and joy, so that we return in Term 2 refreshed, re-energised, and ready to continue our shared journey of learning and growth. Stay safe and enjoy your break with those you love most.
Long Service Leave
We wish Ms Lynda Hudson our Director of Wellbeing and Secondary teacher well as she leaves us for four weeks on Long Service Leave. Ms Farron Boxall will replace Ms Hudson as Acting Director of Wellbeing whilst continuing on as Head of House for Lourdes. We wish Ms Hudson all the best for her leave.
