Music
3A
Year 3 enjoyed performing a song called ‘It’s Great’. The theme of the song was all about the fun we have when completing something with friends as we ‘participate and cooperate’. 3A communicated very well that they are good at participating and cooperating!
3B
3B added bucket rhythms to a song that they’ve been singing!
They had to match 4 different rhythms to the 4 different sections and think about which sounds on the buckets would suit best. Buckets can be played using the top (centre), rim (edge), sides, as well as using the floor and clicking the sticks. Each sound is quite unique!
3C
Year 3 have been enjoying ‘bucket drumming’ which is a great way to use their knowledge on rhythms, to work together as a team and to prepare for performances. Rhythms are first practiced by using body percussion and then transferred to the drum. Bucket drumming is lots of loud fun!
Year 5
The Beaumaris Secondary College band and music teachers came to our school and helped the Yr5 students hone their singing and music skills as they all played together. It was special to connect with our local College and hopefully some of our students will be inspired to join a band when they get to high school! A great time was had by all.
Senior Music
The senior music classes have been doing drama this term. They practiced and then performed ‘Snow White’ for some students and teachers. The drama was extremely well received by the audience. There was humour, music and interesting costumes. Something for everyone! It was lovely to see the senior students’ enthusiasm and commitment, as they did their very best to entertain all.
Well done Mrs Griffiths and senior classes! 😊
