Senior Chorale Tour to the World Choir Games New Zealand

The members of the Senior Chorale had the great privilege of performing on the international stage in Auckland for the 2024 World Choir Games. This festival was both a competition and an opportunity for friendship concerts with other choirs from around the world.

A total of 250 choirs from around the globe attended this event, the largest collection of choirs at a festival at any one event. The Trinity Senior Chorale competed in the Open Sacred Music section gaining a second place to a choir from China. This earned the Chorale a Gold Level III award. 

The combined Trinity/Mercedes Chorale also competed in the Open Secondary School section being awarded a Gold Level II.

Both these performances are outstanding achievements and just reward for many hours of specialised rehearsing.  A workshop with Dr Anthony Trecek-King from the USA was the icing on the cake for the Chorale and the many informal interactions with choirs of all ages from Asia, Europe, Africa and America created opportunities for the formation of international friendships.
