Year One - Spotlight on Learning

Dear Families,

To celebrate our Patron Saint St. Thomas the Apostle, students enjoyed a fun-packed day filled with various activities, including the Kaboom Olympics and a prayer service at the church. They participated in mixed groups ranging from Year 6 to Foundation, fostering community spirit. St. Thomas the Apostle is the Patron Saint of architects due to his construction work in India, where he built numerous churches and baptised many people.

We are looking at addition and subtraction within our link to the Olympic games style math games. As part of this unit students will be developing their own game. Parents have the opportunity to come in and play these games with their children. Parents are encouraged to attended one session on any of the three days :

Day 1: Friday 9th August 11:45-12:30

Day 2: Monday 12th August 11:45-12:30

Day 3: Wednesday 14th August 11:45-12:30 - Not for 1A.

We understand that for many parents this may not be possible, so we will be sending home their created games to play with you so you don't miss the experience.

  • Please send your student to school with fruit for brain food
  • Students are required to bring their reader bag to school each day
  • We would like to highlight that we have students within our community who are anaphylactic to nuts. While we are not a nut free school, we strongly encourage you to be mindful of nut products in lunchboxes. We understand that many of the students in our community enjoy Nutella for lunch. This is understandable and we appreciate that so many students let us know when they do so that we can take steps to ensure the safety of our students
