From the

Leader of Co Curricular

Mr Nathan Smith

Welcome back to Term III and what an infusion of sporting success we have had with the Olympics and our own students performing to an exceptionally high standard over the holidays.

Term III sports are condensed within a 5 x week competition season meaning all games are important with the school entering teams in AFL and Rugby 7s.

Olympic Representation - Angus Lambie

Congratulations to Angus Lambie who has been representing Australia in Paris as part of the Australian Sharks Water Polo Team. Angus is an ex college student who was always a talented athlete, continuing to hone his skills in the water polo arena. Angus has been part of the Aussie Sharks Team for a number of years now and continues to impress as they progress into the Quarter Finals against the USA.

Good luck Angus.

Alex Challenor

Congratulations to Alex Challenor of Year 12 who becomes the 6th student in College history to be selected for the Australian Schoolboys Open Rugby League Team. Alex is a powerful and consistent front rower who represented CCC throughout the week-long competition, going through undefeated and beating NSWCHS 40-12.

We wish Alex all the very best in his future sporting endeavours as he balances his training and game schedule along with his HSC studies. Congratulations Alex.

Lahni Woodger

Congratulations to Lahni Woodger of Year 12 who has recently been selected in the Australian U18 Women's Hockey Team after a successful tournament where she represented NSW. Continuing her impressive form by helping NSW place 3rd in the National Championships, Lahni was super impressive throughout the tournament on the Gold Coast and has been rewarded with selection in the Australian U18 Team. Congratulations Lahni not only in your hockey career but also your upcoming HSC examinations.

Oliver Randazzo

Congratulations to Oli Randazzo of Year 12 who has recently returned after a successful Young Socceroos campaign. Oli was selected in the Australian U20 Youth Football Team to contest the ASEAN Championships, held in Indonesia in late July. The team performed exceptionally well, going down 1-0 in the semi finals; however, bouncing back to win the Bronze medal in a penalty shoot out. Such is Oliver’s leadership, Oli had the privilege of captaining the Young Socceroos to 3rd place. Congratulations to Oli on his Football pursuits and for his HSC studies.

Brae Geelan

Not to be outdone by the seniors, one of our junior students of the school, Brae Geelan of Year 7 has claimed the State Junior Angler Title recently. Brae’s knowledge on fishing is phenomenal and he is also influencing many other students to get involved in the college fishing program for sport. Here is Brae’s Marlin that is easily twice his weight. Congratulations Brae.

Ivy Speer

Late last Term, Ivy competed in the Sydney Gymnastics Championships where she contested the Level 5 competition. Ivy performed exceptionally well, winning both the beam and floor routines, 3rd on bars and performing strongly on vault. Having such strong individual results, Ivy accumulated the greatest amount of points across all four apparatus, winning the Sydney Level 5 Championships. Congratulations Ivy.

OzTag - Champion of Champions

Good luck to our Open Boys OzTag Team who went through undefeated in the Southern Sydney Championships. The team played with great sportsmanship throughout each game and built their plays throughout by defeating GOAL College in the final. The boys now progress to the Champion of Champions, held out at Penrith. Thank you to Mrs Aurelius for coaching the team and good luck at the upcoming Championships.
