ITALIAN
What's been happening in Italian?
In Italian we are continuing with our Topic of Discovery. The students are using their research skills to learn about the geograhy, the culture and the history of Italy.
Prep-Year 2 have continued learning the names of body parts. They practiced naming body parts with a partner and labelled parts of the body on a picture. The students have started learning a new song called 'Testa, Spalle, Gambe'. Their pronunciation and knowledge of body parts is very impressive. In the next few weeks they will travel with Pinocchio to Italy to discover famous cities and landmarks.
Years 3-6 have been learning about the Geography of Italy. They are learning about the World Map and that Italy is part of Europe. They labelled the other continents and the oceans that surround the world. The students learnt about the equator and how it separates the northern hemisphere from the southern hemisphere. They are learning about the Regions of Italy and location vocabulary in Italian, to be able to give the location of cities and regions in relation to each other on the map of Italy.
Well done everyone, keep up the excellent work!
