Relationships
Dear Families,
Last this term students in years four, five, and six completed the Attitudes to School Survey. Part of my role is to analyse the data from the survey and consider ways to help our students with their Social and Emotional Learning.
This week I looked at Student-Teacher Relations in the survey. I found it very interesting that nearly 90% of our students responded that their teacher cares about them or looks after them. This is very positive data for our students and staff.
Sir Ken Robinson was a British author, speaker and international advisor on education and said, “The heart of education is the relationship between the student and the teacher.” I would say that this is true for families too. My famous quote could be, “The heart of families is the relationship between the child and the parent.”
I am fortunate enough to be presenting at the Local Word Writers Festival for Geelong Regional Library. My session is all about relationships and is open to the public to attend.
