Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Prayer
Dear Lord
We pray that the next 16 days of the Paris Olympics, take place in an environment of peace and harmony. We pray that the coming together of athletes from diverse nations, different cultures and religions, competing in a spirit of competition with respect and fairness, is a symbol to the wider world of our strength through unity.
Amen
Confirmation
Tonight some of our students in Year Five and Year Six will complete their initiation as members of the Catholic Church Community, when they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Terry Curtin. We pray for these students and their families as they complete the next significant step in their faith journey.

Congratulations to two of our families who have welcomed beautiful additions to their family's this week. Firstly congratulations to our Year One student Abigail on the birth of a new little brother. Dad Dara has informed us that mum Katherine and their new precious baby boy are doing well. We also congratulate our Year Six student Jacob and his sister Eva in Year Three, on the birth of their new cousin Daisy. Again we have heard that mum Paige is doing well.
School Nurse
The school nurse is making her annual visit to check in with our Foundation Year students. If your child is in another class, and you are concerned about their hearing, eyesight or other similar matters and would like them to have a consultation with the nurse, please see me next week for the relevant documentation.
Giant Pencils
Earlier this week two "giant pencils" were erected at the school entrance welcoming visitors to our school. Like the signage on the Bell Street side of the school which went up nearly three years ago, the aim is to increase the profile of the school and make Sacred Heart more visible to passers by.
Altar Servers
Our eleven Altar Servers are in the throes of their final practices before they commence altar serving in about three weeks. Father Aloysius and the parishioners are really looking forward to having our students help out with weekend Masses.
Flourishing Learners
Earlier this week when visiting the Year Foundation Classroom I was so impressed to see the flourishing learning that was taking place. Bethany had her teaching group working on a skill. Our LSO Palwasha was working with her group on a skill and two groups (one pictured) were working independently showing collaboration beyond their years working on a skill. This is a daily example of an amazing group of students with a brilliant teacher and passionate LSO ensuring learning is happening for every student.
