World Cup fevers Hits GWPS

The Grovedale West World Cup came to an end today with two very exciting finals. In the junior competition Japan came out winners in a very close 4 to 3 penalty shootout. In the senior tournament, again in a very close match, England took the tournament with a two nil win against  France. It was wonderful to see the whole school community out to celebrate and watch the games. We had around 150 students from across the school take part in the tournament which ran for five days. The students displayed tremendous sportsmanship and fair play throughout the tournament. During the presentations there were certificates and awards to recognise team play, sportsmanship, enthusiasm and respect. I would also like to thank a large team of year six helpers who helped organise the tournament, referee games and coach the younger students.
