SWIM SQUAD

St Joseph's Swim Squad has continued each Tuesday morning. A big thankyou to all those who have attended, their persistence and dedication to each morning has been fabulous. Although our shared pool is much smaller, these sessions have been working on correct stroke technique like maintaining a strong body position and learning correct breathing technique. Our last Swim Squad lesson will be next Tuesday morning if any Year 3-6 students would like to attend.

BIKE SKILLS DAY

In our previous newsletter I briefly reported on our marvellous win at the Sir Hubert Opperman Bicycle Education Competition where 20 St Joseph's students competed. For the first time we decided to ride from Rye Park to the Rosebud Green where the competition was held. After a few minor problems along the way (4 chain repairs) we were all riding in sync down the bike path with Mr Robinson setting a cracking pace at the front! A huge thank-you to Ryan Robinson and Marcus who assisted on the day. The students had a great time competing in many rotational challenges. Our new winning plaque should be visible in the office this week, if you would like to have a look.

Prep-Year 4 Intensive Swimming Week

Next week our Prep-Year 4 students will participate in the intensive swimming program at our shared pool. An Operoo was sent home with all the details. The weather is looking perfect for it!

Year 3/4 Friendly Games

Our 3/4 students enjoyed a wonderful morning of friendly games, playing either soccer, tee-ball, netball or volleystars with our Year 3/4 neighbours from Sorrento Primary School. It was a fabulous opportunity for both schools to come together for some fun and friendly competition. Congratulations and thank-you to our students for showing sportsmanship, working as a team and the respectful way they participated. A big thank-you to the 3/4 staff Jenny, Jess and Kamica who assisted on the day and our Grade 6 students who kindly umpired the games.
