PRAYER

The church begins November by remembering all the Saints who have gone before us.  This day is followed by All Souls Day, where we remember and pray for the souls of all those who have died.  Throughout the month of November, we traditionally remember all our family and friends who have died and we say the special prayer that Catholics say when a loved one has died:

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord
And let perpetual light shine upon them
May the souls of the faithful departed
through the mercy of God
Rest in peace
Amen

SCHOOL MASS

Tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd November we will be holding our final School Mass of the year, in the Hall at 9:30.   We have commissioned two new Liturgical Banners, to be used during the celebration of Masses in the School Hall.  We thank Miss Olivia Williams for the work she put into designing these banners.  Parents are welcome to join us for this liturgical celebration, where the banners will be on display if they arrive from the printers.

COMMUNITY MASS COMMITTEE

The  St John the Apostle Community Mass Committee have recently met to organise our November Community Mass. Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to oversee the music at our next Community Mass.  The musicians had a special practice session last Friday and sounded great.  All families are invited to join us at this Mass, where students from Year 1 will be doing some special jobs and will have the opportunity to receive a blessed Holy Card depicting one of the Saints we remembered earlier this month on All Saints day .    The date for final Community Mass for 2023 is:

Saturday 25th November @ 5:00pm in the St John’s School Hall
