From the Principal

Week 9 Term 4 2023

Dear Parents and Carers

Market on the Green

Tomorrow night is our "Market on the Green." At this stage it is most likely it will be moved inside because of the weather. We need as much support from our community as possible, so I ask, if you have a spare hour or two please  drop in and see what's on offer at the many  wonderful stalls.

The Market commences at 5.00pm.

Road Works on Marwal Avenue

Please find information I received from council regarding roadworks for Marwal Avenue. Work is to commence earlier then expected.

Further to the email dated 21 November 2023, regarding the upcoming refurbishment works, we have been advised by our contractors that road refurbishment works of Marwal Avenue, Balwyn North, will be commencing earlier than expected. Works are now scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 6 December 2023.

To minimise the impact on the school, works will start on the East side of Marwal Avenue, estimated to be completed within 3 weeks, weather permitting. Works on the West side of the road will then be carried out during the school holidays, requiring an additional 2 weeks to be completed.

Please be aware you might experience disruptions to traffic flow during this time. If possible please use the Severn St. entrance.

Graduation

Next Thursday evening our Yr 6  students will be celebrating their graduation. This is a very exciting time as it is an opportunity to for them to reflect on and celebrate their time at St Bede's.  The evening will commence at 6 pm with Mass.

Thank you to the teachers and parents who have organised this celebration.

Change Over Day

On Tuesday the students met their new teachers and classmates for 2024. As mentioned in the letter sent to all parents, it is both an exciting and nervous time for some students. I want to thank everyone for assisting in making the transition session so smooth. Many hours after normal school hours are dedicated to this process.

Carols

Our  Carols evening will take place on  Monday 11th December. This is a wonderful community event.  It is currently planned to take place  outside. In case of wet weather we will follow the same format at last year and use both the church and hall  ( hopefully this doesn't happen!!!)

Reports

Your child's report will be available on Monday 11th December through the Nforma parent portal.  Further instructions on how to login will be provided in next week's newsletter

Tuckshop

What a final tuckshop.  Souvlaki and Gelato!!! Thank you to all our Tuckshop helpers during the year.  You are an amazing group of people who week after week ensured the children had  huge smiles on their faces. Enjoy a well deserved holiday.

Have a great week

Brian
