Grade 1
Reading
For our last week of Reading for the year, students enjoyed exploring our final mentor text “The Super Speedy Sloth” by Rebecca Young and Health McKenzie. Students have been exploring new pages in the book each day and using the text and images to help support their comprehension skills. They have been loving the conversations that have been happening and learning new words that they can add to their vocabulary. All students are to be congratulated on their participation and engagement during Reading sessions this year! Well done.
Writing
Students celebrated our final week in Writing by selecting activities from a choice board. This allowed students to demonstrate their understanding of adjectives, conjunctions, procedure texts, nouns and more.
Maths
We celebrated our final week of Maths by participating in a range of hands-on games. The students were highly engaged and demonstrated how much they have learnt in Maths this year.
Excursion
Last Friday the Grade 1 students went on an exciting excursion throughout the whole day.
“On December 1st we went to LegoLand. First, we ate our snack outside LegoLand. Secondly, we had to have a toilet break and then we played on the Build Your Own Minifigure, then we explored Kingdom Quest where we had to protect a lego castle. After that we experimented what side of a lego spinning top spins longer. Finally, we ate our lunch then went back to school!” - Jivitesh 1C
