Last week, students explored the story of ‘Fletcher and the Falling Leaves’. This heartwarming story follows the adventures of Fletcher, an endearing fox deeply attached to his favourite tree. As autumn arrives, Fletcher notices something unusual happening to his beloved tree—it begins to shed its leaves! Through beautiful prose and captivating illustrations, this poignant story explores Fletcher's concern as he tries to save his tree from what he perceives as a devastating problem.
Students investigated interesting vocab such as bounded, dull, ruffled, swooped and fluttered. They particularly enjoyed pretending to swoop like birds in the classroom and fluttering around as if they had wings of their own.

In the last two weeks, our journey into the world of numbers has continued and has been exciting! We've been revisiting the foundational concepts of addition and subtraction, with students actively incorporating words like add, plus, minus, take away, and subtract into their explorations. At the beginning of last week, we immersed ourselves in the art of ‘counting all’ to solve addition problems skilfully. As the week unfolded, we ventured into the 'counting on' addition strategy, utilising number lines to decode equations.
This week, our focus transitioned to subtraction, guiding our students to be able to solve subtraction stories and master subtracting on number lines. To add an extra layer of magic to our learning experience, we delved into mathematical stories such as "Elevator Magic" and "Jack the Builder," weaving narratives into our understanding of these mathematical concepts.
The enthusiasm and engagement of our young learners have been truly heartwarming! As we anticipate the next chapter in their mathematical journey, moving on to Grade One, the adventure continues, and the excitement is real!
