Principal's Message

It has been very busy here at MGSC with the Year 12s undertaking their exams over the past few weeks. They have approached their studies in a mature and measured way, and I congratulate them on working so diligently throughout the year and cramming for their exams.  I am sure they will feel very relieved once they have made their way through this final week.

Exams will commence for the Year 11 students this Friday and for Years 9 and 10 next Monday.  This is an excellent opportunity for our students to gain experience of sitting exams and preparing for their future studies. The students in Years 10 to 12 have been provided with their subjects for next year.

The Student Leadership positions have been finalised for 2024.  Whilst not every student can have a formal position, I hope that those who missed out will still become involved in the activities at the school.  Many thanks to Wendy Harvey, the Director of Student Leadership & Engagement who has headed up the selection process this year.

Over the last weekend Cerin Luke (Year 9) and Gabby Taylor (Year 10) attended the Remembrance Day Service on Saturday.  Student representation at these events is very much appreciated by our college as it demonstrates respect and understanding for those who have served during War periods.

The teaching staff are getting prepared for 2024 with teams of teachers preparing to take on new positions of responsibility next year and as well as new classes.  As always, the staff are extremely well-prepared and professional in their preparation for 2024. This will all commence on the first day of Headstart which is on the 27 November.  Please make a note that we have the Report Writing day on Friday 24 November and this is a student free day.

Best wishes

Linda Brown
