What's happening in our classroom?
Literacy
Over the next two weeks students will be working on the following:
- commenting on their personal feelings and thoughts on a text
- identifying determiners (the, a, an, that and those) within in a sentence
- writing imaginative paragraphs based a given illustration
Numeracy
In the next two weeks students will begin exploring fractions as part of their maths learning. This will include representing halves, quarters and thirds of shapes, counting in halves, quarters and thirds and converting mixed numerals to improper fractions.
In the next two weeks students will begin exploring time as part of their maths learning. This will include calculating duration of time and converting between units of time, for example 60 seconds is 1 minute and 60 minutes is 1 ho
Inquiry
As part of our Inquiry learning students will be exploring what a healthy meal looks like and how to prepare a healthy meal. Students will investigate the Australian guide for healthy eating and the importance of eating a variety of food sources everyday.
Well-being
Over the next two weeks we will be working on:
- exploring what makes us stressed
- responding to stress
- recognising positive and negative emotions
- developing our individual strategies for 'Ready-to-Learn' plans

Ready to Learn Scales
This week 4B and 4A have been working to create their personalised 'Ready-to-Learn' scales. . By using our 'Ready-to-Learn' scales students can communicate that they might need to use a strategy that will ensure they are in the right mindset for learning.
Each student created an individual scale which shows their interests and creativity.
