Literacy News

Thank you to all of the parents that attended our Kinder to Year 2 Literacy Evening last week. I can not thank you enough for your effort and enthusiasm when it comes to supporting the students in our care.

We had a lot of fun discussing all things related to literacy and our wonderful  parents practiced some hands-on activities that could be used at home  to support the acquisition of reading and spelling. 

How we teach writing at Holy Family was raised and I discussed the wonderful scope and sequence which was shared with us by Shane Pearson, creator of PhOrMes and speech pathologist. I promised to attach a copy of the sequence so that parents could see which writing skills are covered in each year level.
