News from our Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent World Maths Day activities yesterday! We celebrated World Maths Day and the  students enthusiastically participated in a variety of engaging and fun mathematical challenges, showcasing their problem-solving skills and creativity. The excitement and energy was palpable as students collaborated and competed in friendly math games, puzzles, and interactive sessions.

This event aligns perfectly with one of our Annual Improvement Plan goals this year  to foster a deeper engagement in Mathematics. By creating a stimulating and supportive environment, we aim to ensure that every student experiences growth in their mathematical abilities throughout the year. Thank you to the Maths team who provided such rich learning experiences for all the students.

Last Monday at the SDD’s across our Network the teachers were able to dive deeper into understanding the K-2 Curriculum, Years 3-4 English Curriculum and Years 5-8 Mathematics Curriculum. This opportunity enabled us to connect with colleagues from other schools and share practice to inform teaching and learning.

Please note that the next Network Staff Development Day will be in TERM 2 on Monday 5th May.

Last week our Year 6 students spent a powerful morning during a Leadership Retreat with Tommy Herschell from “Find Ya Feet”.  His message for the students of being upstanders not bystanders was delivered with raw emotion and an openness to share their stories. They were able to reflect on their own behaviour and develop some tools to help them be upstanders in their relationships with others. You can check out the whole story in last Saturday’s Daily Telegraph newspaper (22nd March) or on our Facebook page. I thank the Year 6 teachers for making this opportunity happen.

Thank you for your continued support in making our school a place where learning is both authentic, enjoyable and impactful.
